In any process, Chemical, Power plant the boiler / Turbine / Exchangers / Compressors / Pump are the heart of the plant. If they don’t perform well then there can be huge capital loss.

 

If the piping connected to above mentioned equipment is not analysed with proper engineering design method, then, it may lead to malfunctioning of equipment.

Sometimes it might damage the equipment.

 

A piping critical line is a line for which a flexibility review is required to be carried out by a Piping Stress Engineer due to temperature, weight, supporting arrangement, external loading, lines connection to strain sensitive equipment, vibrations, etc.

 

Piping systems shall have sufficient flexibility to prevent thermal expansion or contraction.

 

Stress analysis is required to protect the sensitive equipment from vibration, Detrimental stresses or distortion in piping and valves or in connected equipment, Failure of piping or supports from overstress or fatigue, Leakage at joint
